The department’s main focus is health promotion, prevention of key health threats and forming linkages for access to services. It seeks to improve provision of health care services through capacity building for both health care practitioners and community based cadres. Community health clubs are used as the main vehicle for social and behaviour change.  Post cyclone the organization has helped with strengthening and recovery of health institutions through renovations and donations of medical equipment to some health facilities as well as during Covid-19. It has also been responsive to emerging and re-emerging health needs of the communities as it was able to pioneer community based mental health services and during outbreaks and disasters.
