Active Project VSO
The Active Citizenship through Inclusive Volunteering and Empowerment (ACTIVE) project is funded by UKAid and implemented by TSURO Trust in partnership with Voluntary Service Overseas Zimbabwe. It focuses on building community and strengthening resilient livelihoods through supporting youth agroecological enterprises and supporting women small holder farmer practice in agroecology. This project further mainstream disaster risk reduction activities by promoting green skills and also provide awareness on sexual reproductive health and rights. Over the period 2022-2025, the collaborative efforts between TSURO trust and VSO have seen the establishment agroecological demonstration plot for onsite practical learning, improved district emergency preparedness and planning through the development of yearly district management plans, training of women small holder farmers on nursery management and tree planting as well as inspiring a network of proactive youth climate champions resident within Chimanimani communities. Through this project, farmers have participated in cross exchange learning visits and also hosted farmers from other parts of the globe for look and learn activities. The project is supporting primary actors from wards 10 A & B, 15, 17 and 18 of Chimanimani district.
