𝐄𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐑𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐂𝐮𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐞𝐝𝐠𝐞 𝐕𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐒𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐋𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬

TSURO Trust is capacitating Communities in the Nemakonde Landscape with trainings on Village, Saving and lending schemes in order to create viable and sustainable businesses.

The trainings are being facilitated by the Ministry of Women Affairs Community and Small and Medium Enterprises Development further targets enforcing and enhancing the village savings and lending in rural communities.

Eradicating poverty and creating new rural business narrative is what TSURO Trust is fostering as part of its contribution to the Government’s Rural Industrialization Agenda.

The beneficiaries were taken through the process of formalizing their savings and lending activities, constitution making, sound investment and lending techniques and financial literacy with a view to ensure that their businesses are transformed from small to medium enterprises.

Women constitutes the greater number of beneficiaries in the Village Savings and Lending groups, and overall the program is part of broader women empowerment initiatives, aiming to reduce both economic and gender based violence within the rural communities.

The beneficiaries appreciated the Canadian Government, Canadian Foodgrains Bank, Global Affairs Canada, PWRDF, for providing the funds to TSURO Trust that have enabled the community based organisation to roll out different Nature based solutions in the Nemakonde Landscape.
