The Ministry of Women Affairs, Community, Small and Medium Enterprises Dev. in partnership with 𝐓S𝐔R𝐎 𝐓r𝐮s𝐭 hosted a vibrant I𝐧t𝐞r𝐧a𝐭i𝐨n𝐚l W𝐨m𝐞n’s D𝐚y C𝐨m𝐦e𝐦o𝐫a𝐭i𝐯e D𝐢a𝐥o𝐠u𝐞 at Bumba Secondary School in 𝐂h𝐢m𝐚n𝐢m𝐚n𝐢.

The dialogue created a powerful platform for women to share their 𝑣o𝑖c𝑒s, 𝑒x𝑝e𝑟i𝑒n𝑐e𝑠 𝑎n𝑑 𝑎s𝑝i𝑟a𝑡i𝑜n𝑠 – sparking meaningful conversations and collective commitment towards a more inclusive and equitable community.

Through engaging r𝐨u𝐧d𝐭a𝐛l𝐞 𝐝i𝐬c𝐮s𝐬i𝐨n𝐬, community members – including 𝐛e𝐞k𝐞e𝐩e𝐫s , 𝐦u𝐬h𝐫o𝐨m f𝐚r𝐦e𝐫s , 𝐒A𝐂C𝐎s, 𝐠e𝐧d𝐞r c𝐡a𝐦p𝐢o𝐧s, 𝐥e𝐚d f𝐚r𝐦e𝐫s 𝐚n𝐝 𝐬u𝐧f𝐥o𝐰e𝐫 𝐩r𝐨c𝐞s𝐬i𝐧g g𝐫o𝐮p𝐬 – explored key issues such as:

Progress in advancing women’s rights and gender equality.

Inspiring achievements by women in recent years.

Ongoing challenges in leadership, decision-making and access to resources.

Real-life experiences highlighting the importance of women’s empowerment.

This impactful event is part of the N𝐚t𝐮r𝐞 𝐏o𝐬i𝐭i𝐯e F𝐨o𝐝 𝐒y𝐬t𝐞m𝐬 𝐏r𝐨j𝐞c𝐭, running since May 2023 across 7 v𝐢l𝐥a𝐠e𝐬 in B𝐮m𝐛a W𝐚r𝐝 𝟕. The initiative focuses on:

Gender-responsive nature-based solutions.

Climate-resilient livelihoods.

Strengthened landscape governance for biodiversity & climate adaptation.

Funded by Global Affairs Canada through Canadian Foodgrains Bank and implemented by 𝐓S𝐔R𝐎 𝐓r𝐮s𝐭 with support from Alongside Hope, the project continues to align with national efforts to promote 𝐠e𝐧d𝐞r e𝐪u𝐚l𝐢t𝐲 𝐚n𝐝 𝐢n𝐜l𝐮s𝐢v𝐞 𝐜o𝐦m𝐮n𝐢t𝐲 𝐝e𝐯e𝐥o𝐩m𝐞n𝐭.
