The 𝐍e𝐦a𝐤o𝐧d𝐞 𝐜o𝐦m𝐮n𝐢t𝐲 gathered for a vibrant A𝐠r𝐨e𝐜o𝐥o𝐠y O𝐩e𝐧 𝐃a𝐲 organised under the 𝐍a𝐭u𝐫e P𝐥u𝐬 initiative. With the season blessed by good rains and promising crops, the day became a powerful platform for 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗳𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀. ☀️🌿

Farmers from M𝐡i𝐳h𝐚, M𝐚n𝐝i𝐦a, 𝐂h𝐢t𝐨m𝐛o, 𝐍e𝐳a𝐧d𝐨n𝐲i, and beyond convened to gain practical insights and exchange knowledge on how agroecological principles are transforming livelihoods improving soil health, boosting yields, and strengthening household food security.

𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀, 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗱:

A highlight of the day was the inspiring testimony of family collaboration showcasing how teamwork at household level strengthens productivity and resilience. 👩🏾‍🌾👨🏾‍🌾

Stakeholders including Agritex, health officials, traditional leadership, and community groups reinforced the importance of nutrition-sensitive agriculture, market linkages, gender inclusion, and sustainable land management for long-term development.

The projected maize yield of 2.5 tonnes from three plots reflects not just productivity but the p𝐨w𝐞r o𝐟 𝐤n𝐨w𝐥e𝐝g𝐞, i𝐧n𝐨v𝐚t𝐢o𝐧, a𝐧d w𝐨r𝐤i𝐧g w𝐢t𝐡 𝐧a𝐭u𝐫e. 🌽📈
