In the Nemakonde Landscape empowered young women are leveraging the transformative power of art to challenge entrenched gender stereotypes, dismantle societal barriers, and eradicate Gender-Based Violence.
Through inspiring mind-set change, they aim to foster a culture of equality, inclusivity, and social justice.
Such is the platform which has been created under the Nature+ project being implemented by TSURO Trust alongside Chikukwa Ecological Land use Organization, creating a unique forum for the young women to share their challenges and proffer solutions respectively.
Through staging theatre and dialogue, the participants are sensitizing each other on gender related social ills that are more prevalent in their marriages and in the Nemakonde landscape.
The young women in theatre forum presents a unique experience for the young womenโs group where they share, exchange information on the different gender related issues with a view to find ways of addressing the same.
The platform helps to reduce the level of depression among other challenges faced by young women thereby creating an escapism environment which help them to refocus.
The messages are well packaged through role plays and in a relaxed environment.
The major thrust is conflict transformation and try to find ways of addressing the same.
