E𝐖D𝐄 𝐏r𝐨j𝐞c𝐭 𝐔p𝐝a𝐭e: 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐮𝐞 𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞, 𝐀𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 & 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐜𝐞 𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞

Brot für die Welt

Stakeholders from across M𝐚n𝐢c𝐚l𝐚n𝐝 convened at M𝐚n𝐢c𝐚 𝐒k𝐲v𝐢e𝐰 𝐇o𝐭e𝐥 in Mutare for a high level dialogue focused on strengthening c𝐥i𝐦a𝐭e r𝐞s𝐢l𝐢e𝐧c𝐞, a𝐠r𝐨e𝐜o𝐥o𝐠y and 𝐠o𝐯e𝐫n𝐚n𝐜e o𝐟 𝐜o𝐦m𝐨n p𝐨o𝐥 𝐫e𝐬o𝐮r𝐜e𝐬. The session brought together key provincial and district actors including government ministries, traditional leadership, technical departments, development partners, farmers and youths supported by 𝗧𝗦𝗨𝗥𝗢 𝗧𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁.

Participants included representatives from Agritex, Environmental Management Agency, 𝗭𝗜𝗡𝗪𝗔, Zimbabwe Republic Police, 𝗠𝗼𝗛𝗖𝗖, Zimparks, the Office of the President and Cabinet, as well as Chimanimani district structures and 𝐂h𝐢e𝐟 𝐌u𝐭a𝐦b𝐚r𝐚. The platform also amplified community voices through the participation of farmers and youth from multiple wards.

A key highlight was the presentation by 𝐃r C M𝐮j𝐚j𝐮, who emphasized that the impacts of C𝐲c𝐥o𝐧e I𝐝a𝐢 exposed systemic vulnerabilities while also revealing pathways to resilience through agroecology, strengthened governance and community based seed systems.

💪 Agroecology supports soil regeneration, food security and climate adaptation

💪 Coordination gaps continue to hinder effective governance and implementation

💪 Community seed systems are essential for biodiversity preservation and resilience

📌 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗰 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀:

✅Scale up integrated evidence based policy actions

✅Strengthen local institutions and farmer led systems

✅Promote seed sovereignty and sustainable soil management

✅Adopt a whole of government approach to climate resilience and food security

The dialogue reaffirmed the need to transition from conventional farming practices towards sustainable, community driven agroecological systems.
