CELEBRATING 10 YEARS OF PROMOTING SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE

TSURO Trust registered its presence and participated in the 2024 edition of the National Good Food and Seed Festival, which was recently held in Harare.

The organization was thrilled to join other progressive civic organizations with dedicated Chimanimani farmers showcasing and selling their organic produce!

But that’s not all – more importantly the event presented farmers with the golden opportunity to share and exchange seed ahead of the 2024-2025 summer cropping season.

The event was so significant in promoting agroecology and advocating for smallholder farmers’ rights.

what an amazing event which brought together different like-minded organizations sharing knowledge, experience and expertise, all for the love of creating sustainable food security, nutrition and poverty eradication.

TSURO Trust is so proud to be part of this movement, empowering farmers and promoting sustainable agriculture practices for a better future!

Over 100 SKI farmers and partners from Malawi, South Africa, Zambia, and Across Zimbabwe convened in Harare to welcome the African Food Sovereignty Movement. On the occasion of AFSA’s 5th Biennial Food Systems Conference, participants celebrated Africa’s diverse seed and food systems, asserting the centrality of farmer-led seed systems and agroecology in addressing health, ecological, and climate change impact.

TSURO Trust and other organizations took the opportunity to celebrate the growing recognition of smallholder farmers’ critical role in assuring seed and food sovereignty for Africa and the growing call for on-going increased support for agroecology

This year’s National Good Food and Seed Festival was also attended by the following organizations PORET, Chinyika Development Trust, PELUM Zimbabwe, Earthlore Foundation, Scope Zimbabwe, Scope Malawi, Ukuvuna, EET and many others
